In mid-February Germans in the Rheinland celebrate Karneval, before the period of Lent. Here finally are the pictures! Chiara had a Karneval party with her playgroup. They all dressed up as Indians (very popular here in Germany) and had a grand time playing with hobbyhorses, drums and other musical instruments.

Chiara also got out to explore the city's celebrations. She saw a parade and many people dressed up. It was fun!

It's a tour of our apartment! We've been here awhile, but finally here's a look at where we are living right now.
Kitty in rain and snow - Chiara painted the kitty first (lower right) and then added a snow and rain storm for dramatic effect. She worked especially hard on the whiskers.
Chiara loves pirates. Here she dresses up like one. She designed the costume herself. The video is of Chiara saying piratey things.
