We had a lot of snow. The canals froze over and we got to make a real snow-man!

Our first year celebrating Sinterklaas! We learned a lot from Chiara as she brought home the traditions from school.

Since we moved to Utrecht we've been kept busy with moving to our new house, traveling to visit Todd on school holidays, Kavita attending a parent-run daycare three mornings a week as of February where I work myself one morning a week, getting Chiara extra rest and other care after her head injury in May, traveling to the US in July to visit family (7 cities in 4 weeks!) and returning to our routine. I was having trouble posting videos and didn't have time to sort out the issues until recently. I apologize for the long delay in posting new pictures and videos, hopefully I won't have such a long gap again.

Todd's parents visited in October last year and we toured around Amsterdam. Here's a sample.

More pictures of us in Utrecht. The highlight was a visit to the beach (about an hour from here). Kavita got increasingly more bothered by the waves, and so the only pictures of her on the beach are from early on. Chiara got increasingly wetter and had a grand time.

Here we are in Utrecht. We arrived and explored, and Chiara had her first day of school here (2nd grade or as they call it - group 4). We also said goodbye to Chiara's Dutch teacher, who we still miss.

Class trip

Chiara's class trip in July. We went to a castle that had been converted into a youth hostel, complete with moat good for exploring. We took a hike through the nearby woods and Chiara took over as photographer, snapping shots of her classmates. The trip was during the World Cup, so of course there was a big screen for watching. And Kavita made some friends too.

We saw Mark, Navah and Pam in Amsterdam, Chiara finished baseball and we had a summer party for the Spanish playgroup.
